First, I should cover some part of leaves in both sides using carbon or lead paper, then I should make the leaves exposed to the sunlight. Here are some leaves that already covered by carbon paper (this is my leaves! :p)
I let the plant under the sunlight. So hot today.
Then, what is the purpose of this experiment?
Soon, I'll do the experimen in Monday, when it's Biology lesson. The part that covered by carbon paper will turning withered, and yellow. Then, the part that turning withered, and the part that not turning will be boiled, and we will let it idle. We put both withered parts of the leaves into test tube and add alcohol 70 % as necessary. Put the test tube containing the leaves and alcohol into the glass beaker filled with water, and we will boil the water on the tripod.
After that, we will replace the alcohol if its colour has been green, then repeat that until the leaves is no longer green. Take both pieces of the leaves and put them on the Petri dish.
Finally, drop some Lugol's solution (iodine) on both pieces of the leaves. Then we observe the change in colour occured in both pieces of the leaves. And you will know the purpose of this experiment; to prove that carbohydrate is generated in photosyntesis.
Well, is it make you excited to do the experiment?
You should try this at home :)
